Acceleration plan | Building Blocks for Effective Lecturer Professional Development 2.0
Updated version: building blocks for effective professional development 2.0
In August 2020, we published ‘Building blocks for effective professional development – Literature review’. In order to support higher education in designing effective professional development tools, there was a need for greater insight into what actually works in practice: the building blocks for effective professional development of lecturers.
Based on both a review of (practice-based) literature and discussions with experts, the Facilitating Professional Development for Lecturers zone, together with iXperium, has developed an initial model for the professional development of lecturers. The model sets out the building blocks for effective professional development aimed at educational innovation with ICT in higher education. Building on this study, a follow-up study was conducted to increase the model’s practical usefulness. Based on the results, the zone has updated the model and the building blocks in version 2.0.
