In this position paper, teamleaders Kim Schildkamp (University of Twente) and Ronald Spruit (Avans University of Applied Sciences) of the Facilitating professional development for lecturers zone formulate eight recommendations for universities (of applied sciences) to facilitate their lecturers as well as possible when using IT in their teaching. These recommendations are based on the one and a half years’ work by the members of the Professional development zone and the experiences gained within the higher education institutions. The paper is primarily intended for directors and managers in higher education. With the request to include these recommendations in the strategic policy and its implementation in their institution.
