Acceleration plan | Transition agenda Getting to grips with digitalisation
A higher education with more variety than the current system. A higher education system where lecturers work together in teams, where there is no question of climbing up or slipping down, where an institution is your home base and where, at the same time, you can learn across the boundaries of study programmes and institutions throughout your life. These are just a few of the images of the future from our transition agenda for higher education, ‘Getting to grips with digitalisation’.
The transition agenda was drawn up in 2021 by cross-thinkers and fresh minds from higher education, led by Professor Derk Loorbach and Gijs Diercks of DRIFT (research institute Erasmus University Rotterdam). Derk presented the transition agenda to Arthur Mol (Rector Magnificus at Wageningen University & Research and chair of the steering committee of the Acceleration Plan) during the SURF Education Days 2021.
In ‘Getting to grips with digitalisation’, experts from within and outside the Acceleration Plan sketch what the desired transition in higher education looks like and how it can be realised. The transition agenda translates concrete steps we can take to achieve this future and lists breakthrough projects that are already making an important contribution.
