OE Global 2020: presentation Digital educational resources

International stage

The OE Global (Open Education Global) 2020 took place from 16 to 20 November 2020. This is a conference in which interested parties, from all educational sectors and from all corners of the world, discuss and discuss open education themes. Central is how open education contributes to accessibility, equality, innovation and opportunities in education.

Robert Schuwer and Lieke Rensink from the Towards digital (open) educational resources zone took part in the conference. During a session they presented the Acceleration Plan and the activities of the zone on this international stage. Subsequently, more was told about the results of the zone, such as the Vision Document for educational resources 2025 and the National platform for digital open educational resources.

During the discussion at the end of the presentation, participants mainly inquired about the activities of the infrastructure and content working group. There was a lot of interest in the activities aimed at gaining access to the search portal of the national platform for open learning materials. Questions raised during the discussion included:

  • What happens if you no longer work at a higher education institution? Can you still access all the information?
  • Is the portal only for higher education?
  • Isn’t it confusing if commercial and open learning materials are on the same platform?

The zone will take these questions into account in the further elaboration of the plans for 2021.
