The Towards Digital (Open) Educational Resources zone is making efforts to achieve the following ambition:
On 1 January 2023, higher education institutions in the Netherlands will be able to offer lecturers and students the opportunity to compile and use an optimised mix of educational resources.
In order to better determine which steps are required to achieve the ambition of the zone, the Acceleration Plan’s Strategy Team wishes to gain more insight into the present and future of digital educational resources. The following mission statement has therefore been formulated:
“Develop a concrete vision of how the higher education sector ideally wishes to use digital educational resources, preferably including a roadmap of what steps can be taken in the next five years.”
The following two components have been assumed for implementation of the assignment:
This vision document was developed by a working group within the Digital (Open) Educational Resources zone. The document presents a vision based on eight vision statements. Building blocks to realise these vision statements have been described based on the current situation. The document also describes the urgency, the opportunities, the current situation, a foundation for the vision statements and the building blocks needed to realise the vision statements. The working group expects this to form a solid foundation for targeted steps which will accelerate the correct use of digital (open) educational resources.
